Today, we are happy to introduce our latest grassroots activism tool, the WakeUp! Call. This is another way of making our voices heard as Progressive Muslims on the issues we care about.
Next week, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the largest Muslim group in the US and Canada, is hosting the annual conference of the National Temperance and Prohibition Council (NTPC).
The NTPC is an umbrella organization that includes extremist organizations like the Prohibition Party, whose 2004 US Vice Presidential candidate is also the NTPC president. Among other things, the Prohibition Party's official platform includes racist immigration policies, pro-war positions, and a call for Bible readings in public schools.
MWU! is urging you to send an email "WakeUp! Call" to ISNA's leaders expressing your outrage at their sponsorship of such an event. All you need to do is click here and fill out the quick and easy WakeUp! Call form.
Demand that ISNA cancel the event and that they distance themselves from those positions.
